State mechanisms in Nepal have been fully deployed for search, rescue, and relief operations following a devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday that left around 12,000 people out of contact. By Friday noon, 1,567 individuals had submitted assistance requests through the 'Setu' application to locate missing persons across the flood-affected region.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, contact has been re-established with 144 individuals listed in the submitted forms. However, authority officials noted that multiple applications may have been filed for the same individual, and work is currently underway to eliminate duplicate entries to establish accurate data.

Government agencies are operating concurrently to accelerate search, rescue, and relief efforts across the affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. Prime Minister Balendra Shah 'Balen' and Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal conducted an on-site inspection of the flood-affected Bidur area in Nuwakot on Thursday morning.
Following interactions with affected citizens, local representatives, security personnel, health workers, and rescue teams, Prime Minister Shah stated that the situation remains challenging. He emphasized that saving every citizen's life, searching for missing persons, treating the injured, and delivering immediate relief to affected families remain the government's top priority. State authorities continue to streamline rescue operations and data verification to ensure comprehensive relief delivery to affected communities.
