A newly constructed two-story campus building for the Kedar Surya Multiple Campus in Badikedar Rural Municipality of Doti district was jointly inaugurated today by Shri Vashisht Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Shri Bhairab Bahadur Saud, Chairman of Badikedar Rural Municipality.
The new educational facility, formerly known as Shree Kedar Jyotipunj Multiple Campus, was constructed under the High Impact Community Development Project framework with financial assistance from the Government of India. The infrastructure project, featuring 7 rooms on each floor alongside essential amenities, was directly implemented through the local government of Badikedar Rural Municipality.
Affiliated with Tribhuvan University, the campus currently runs Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Business Studies programs, serving higher education needs in the region. During the ceremony, local leadership, campus administration, and community stakeholders expressed appreciation for India's ongoing development assistance, highlighting that the modern facility will significantly enhance the local educational environment.
This initiative is part of a broader development partnership under which the Government of India has undertaken around 600 projects across all 7 provinces and 74 districts of Nepal. In Sudurpashchim Province alone, 47 projects have been initiated, including 4 in Doti district, alongside the donation of 78 ambulances and 40 school buses to local health and educational institutions.
As close neighbors, India and Nepal share a multifaceted development partnership aimed at boosting priority infrastructure. The successful completion of this campus building reflects the continuing collaboration between the two nations to support Nepal's efforts toward regional growth and educational advancement.
