Educational infrastructure in Karnali Province is set for a substantial upgrade following the commencement of a new school building project in Sannitriveni Rural Municipality-4, Kalikot. The foundational ceremony for Shree Janajyoti Secondary School was officially conducted on Thursday, establishing a fresh milestone for academic facilities in the region.

Financed through a financial grant of roughly NPR 93 million from the Government of India, this initiative is being executed directly by the Sannitriveni Rural Municipality. The venture holds historic significance as it represents the debut High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) to be rolled out within the Kalikot district. Local leaders, including the Chairman of the Sannitriveni Rural Municipality, noted that the incoming facility will drastically improve the day-to-day academic atmosphere for both local pupils and teaching faculty.

Emphasizing bilateral cooperation, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, shared a video message conveying solidarity with the local community and reaffirmed India's dedication to supporting Nepal's socio-economic development. This initiative adds to a broader developmental footprint, as India has backed nearly 600 similar projects across 74 Nepali districts. In Karnali Province alone, 18 projects have been initiated alongside the distribution of 56 ambulances and 14 school buses, which includes 4 ambulances and 2 school buses previously dispatched to Kalikot. The successful execution of this school building is expected to lay the groundwork for enhanced literacy and better institutional capacity in the rural municipality.
