A wild elephant emerging from the Chitwan National Park attacked a residential home in Belhatta, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23, resulting in the tragic deaths of a mother and her young son. The victims have been identified as twenty-one-year-old Ashika Bote and her four-year-old son, Bharat Bote, who were inside their residence when the incident occurred.

According to the Ward Chairman of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-23, Deepak Dawadi, the wild elephant strayed out of the national park boundaries on Saturday night. The animal launched a sudden assault directly on the family home, causing both individuals to succumb to their injuries immediately at the scene of the incident.

Following the tragic event, an emergency meeting was convened among local elected representatives, security forces, and the national park administration to address the crisis. The authorities reached an agreement to initiate immediate operations to bring the wild elephant under control, provide prompt and appropriate financial relief to the bereaved family through the Chitwan National Park Office, and reconstruct the destroyed residential house.

The collaborative administrative response further committed to executing essential, immediate measures aimed at mitigating the ongoing human-wildlife conflict within the residential buffer zones. This comprehensive strategy is expected to guide future safety protocols and community protection initiatives in the affected border regions.
