A late-night police operation in Pokhara has resulted in the detention of 38 individuals after authorities uncovered a trance party allegedly involving drug use and distribution near Fewa Lake.
The raid took place in a secluded residence above Sedi in Pokhara Metropolitan City–18, where Nepali and foreign nationals had gathered. Acting on specific intelligence regarding narcotics activity, a police team led by DSP Navaraj Bhattarai from the Baidam Police Office surrounded the location and intervened during the event.
According to Kaski Police Chief SP Navin Karki, preliminary searches led to the recovery of drugs from eight individuals. Those found in possession include one Israeli citizen, two Indian nationals, and five Nepali citizens.
Police confirmed that formal investigations under narcotics-related charges have been initiated against those directly linked to the substances. Others detained at the site are undergoing background screening, and legal action will be determined based on individual findings.
Authorities reported that nine types of drugs were seized during the operation, including MDMA, hashish, cocaine, brown heroin, amphetamine-based substances (commonly referred to as “ice”), marijuana, magic mushrooms, and LSD.
Officials further revealed that the property used for the gathering had been rented by Bamendra Pun from local resident Krishna Parajuli. Police stated that the investigation remains ongoing, with additional legal steps to follow based on evidence.
