The Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) is preparing a massive Rs 1.15 crore stage to elevate the domestic sports scene with the upcoming PM Cup NVA Men’s and Women’s Volleyball League. Scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from Baisakh 10 to 19, the tournament represents a significant financial and structural investment in the nation's premier athletes.

According to the NVA, the event will feature a total of 14 elite squads—eight in the men's category and six in the women's—all of which secured their spots through rigorous qualification at the NVA Championship. The men's division boasts a diverse lineup including Help Nepal Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Khilji Youth Club from Lumbini, West Rukum Volleyball Team, Koshi Province, and Budhanilkantha Volleyball Club. Meanwhile, the women's bracket will see fierce competition among New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, Sudurpaschim Province, Everest Volleyball Club, and Tribhuvan Army Club.

Adding an international dimension to the local courts, the organizing committee has authorized each participating franchise to field up to three foreign players. This strategic move is expected to drastically raise the competitive standard and draw larger crowds.

The financial incentives for the participating teams are unprecedented for the league. The champions of both the men's and women's categories will walk away with a hefty Rs 10 lakh. Runner-ups will secure Rs 5 lakh, while the third-place finishers will receive Rs 2.5 lakh. Individual brilliance will also be highly rewarded; the most valuable players across both genders will earn Rs 60,000 each. Furthermore, top performers in specific roles—including best server, blocker, libero, spiker, setter, and coach—will be granted Rs 30,000 respectively.

To ease the logistical burden on the athletes, the association has arranged daily allowances. Players traveling from outside the Kathmandu Valley will receive Rs 1,200 per day for food and accommodation, whereas local players from within the valley will be provided a Rs 300 daily stipend.

With significant prize pools, substantial logistical support, and the inclusion of international talent, this upcoming league is poised to set a new benchmark for professional volleyball tournaments in Nepal.
