Kathmandu — Former Nepali Ambassador, prominent human rights activist, and strong advocate of constitutionalism Vijay Kant Karna has expressed his strong views in favor of religious tolerance, harmony, and inclusive thinking.

Recently, highly popular and well-known 'Gen-Z' leader Jasmin Ojha, who has established a good identity internationally, shared a stance on social media regarding the entry of non-Hindus into the Pashupatinath temple. Leader Ojha wrote in her Facebook status:

"No ifs or buts, the entry of non-Hindus into the sacred temple of our revered deity Lord Shree Pashupatinath in a manner that attacks ancient Sanatana faith and traditions is regrettable and condemnable. Such acts in the sacred abode of God are unforgivable. Apologies are not enough; statements should be taken immediately from security personnel deployed for the deity's protection and staff of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, and they should be brought under legal action for negligence! May Lord Pashupatinath protect us all."

Making a positive and ideological comment on the status, Karna, Nepal's former ambassador to Denmark, conveyed the message that Lord Pashupatinath is a generous and equitable deity for everyone. Responding to her statement on social media, Karna wrote:

"If Pashupatinathji has no problem, why do others have an issue? When and where has Pashupatinath ever said not to allow followers of other religions to enter?"

Karna's view, having continuously stood for human rights, constitutionalism, secularism, and freedom of religion for a long time, further highlights the essence of multicultural beauty, mutual brotherhood, and religious tolerance present in Nepali society.

It is believed that his perspective—that mutual harmony, democratic debate, and the spirit of religious freedom must be preserved even amid differing ideas and viewpoints across generations—will contribute significantly to maintaining coexistence and brotherhood in Nepali society.
