The new school building of Shree Panchayat Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Gothgaun in Sundarharaincha Municipality-7, Morang District, Koshi Province, was jointly inaugurated on October 6, 2026. Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Kumar Karki, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu Narayan Singh, and Mayor of Sundarharaincha Municipality Kedar Prasad Guragain jointly inaugurated the facility, which was constructed with financial assistance from the Government of India as a High Impact Community Development Project.

The project was executed through Sundarharaincha Municipality to improve local educational infrastructure. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Karki and other local stakeholders expressed appreciation for the development support provided by the Government of India, noting that the new infrastructure will enhance the learning environment for both students and educators in the municipality.

Since the inception of the High Impact Community Development Project scheme, the Government of India has undertaken 605 projects across all seven provinces and 74 districts in Nepal. In Koshi Province alone, 103 projects have been initiated, including 17 within Morang District. Additionally, India has gifted 150 ambulances and 62 school buses to health and educational institutions across Koshi Province, with 21 ambulances and 17 school buses allocated specifically to Morang District.

This developmental partnership highlights the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Nepal and India aimed at augmenting priority infrastructure and fostering socio-economic growth in local communities.
