A significant step toward enhancing educational infrastructure in Sudurpashchim Province was taken as the foundation stone for the new building of Shree Basuki Secondary School was officially laid in Achham. The ceremony, held in Mellekh Rural Municipality-4, featured the joint participation of Narayan Singh, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Jwala Singh Saud, Chairperson of Mellekh Rural Municipality.
This construction project is backed by a financial grant of approximately NPR 38 million from the Government of India. Classified as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), the initiative is being executed through the local administration of Mellekh Rural Municipality to ensure direct community benefit.

During the event, Chairperson Saud and other local representatives expressed their gratitude for India’s ongoing developmental assistance. They emphasized that the modern facility would create a much-improved teaching and learning environment for both students and educators in the region, addressing long-standing infrastructure needs.
This collaboration highlights the deep-rooted and multifaceted partnership between the two neighboring nations. By focusing on priority sectors like education, India continues to support Nepal’s domestic efforts in infrastructure expansion and socio-economic progress. The completion of this school building is expected to serve as a cornerstone for academic growth in Achham for years to come.
