The Kathmandu police have apprehended three individuals suspected of involvement in a fatal assault using sharp weapons in Kirtipur. The incident, which occurred near Chiya Sagar in Kirtipur Municipality-10, resulted in the death of 22-year-old Vipin Ghimire.
According to police reports, the victim was a resident of Dhurkot, Gulmi, currently living in Kirtipur-3. The attack took place on the afternoon of May 6, 2026.
Following the incident, a specialized team from the Kirtipur Police Circle identified and detained the suspects. The arrested individuals include 25-year-old Mahendra Shah from Achham, 23-year-old Rabindra Dhami from Kailali, and 22-year-old Roshan Bista, also from Kailali.
The Kathmandu District Court has granted a seven-day remand for the trio. This judicial extension allows investigators to conduct a thorough probe into the motives and circumstances surrounding the homicide.
The investigation remains active as authorities gather further evidence to ensure a comprehensive legal proceeding against the accused.
